I am saddened to see that John is no longer with us. I lost contact with him about 15 years ago, after moving from Olympia to Tacoma. He was a long time resident of Olympia, working for the State on computer system development. His primary hobby was photography, and you could see him at the local fairs showing off his art.
John was a great friend in Junior High at Gray and at Mt. Tahoma High. He was really the only "non-athlete" who comfortably hung around in our social group. A little "geeky" by some standards, John had a heart of gold, and always had something significant to add to any conversation. I was looking forward to seeing him again at a reunion...
John passed away in 2002, here's the obituary. A great friend at Gray and Mt. Tahoma.
John Devereaux was born April 28, 1947, in Tacoma, WA. He died at his home in Olympia, May 29, 2002.
