Billie and I met at Hunt Jr. High. I attended there in the 9th grade and we rode the bus together. As it turned out she lived a cpl. blocks from me. We bacame good friends and when school announced Talent Show in Spring she got together 4 other girls to sing with and made up the "Velveteens" which changed to "Velvets" over time. We were made up of Linda Anderson, pianist; Billie Ellwanger, Nancy Hunter, Mary Wright, Janice Durance and Kathy Faker(me) as a singing group. We performed every yr. in the Talent Show and at nursing homes and pancake breakfasts and spagetti dinners. It was lots of practices and work but we had a fun time working together thru our time at Mt. T. Billie and Linda Anderson have passed away but Heaven has gained a very talented piano player and talented Alto singer to their Choir.
Billie and I, along with Kathy Faker, Janice Durance, and Mary Wright were in a singing group. See Kathy Faker's comment, except it was not Nancy Hansen, it was me, Nancy Hunter. She was a great friend and a great classmate. She will be missed.

Thanks Nancy, I know your last name was Hunter. Sorry for the misprint. I fixed it.
